May 1 General News Strong City AT&SF Depot Restoration The Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad Depot was built in 1913 for a cost of $20,000. The one story, pressed brick building was built in the mission style and trimmed with cut stone and decorative brick, with a tile roof. The current depot replaced an earlier one that had set about 100 feet to the east. May 1 General News Public Wholesale Water Supply District No. 26 In September of 2008 the Cities of Cottonwood Falls, Strong City and Chase County rural Water District #1 decided to perform a study regarding the construction of a Regional Public Water Supply System. The group received a 50 % cost-share grant from KDHE for the development of a preliminary engineering study. In May 2011 Public Wholesale Water Supply District No. 26 was organized.
